Favorite Shoes: the More Comfortable, the Better

posted on 3 November 2012

While I own all kinds of footwear - from wide calf boots to flip flops - my favorite shoes are sport ones, because of many reasons. I really do not like high heels, especially because most of the women choose them in order to become even more attractive. Also, they are also worn to avoid being different than the others. I really appreciate sport shoes because they can provide comfort to me and I am able to move easier. Sneakers are also OK, because they are also commodious, especially for trips and similar things. Also, they are appropriate for almost every type of clothes, thing that is really nice and very advantageous for me – and, of course, for the other people who choose them instead of uncomfortable shoes -. I also appreciate boots, because they are useful when there is winter or autumn. Generally speaking, the shoes I like more are those shoes which can provide comfort, which are worth to be bought, because I like simplicity much more than luxury.

A Priceless Jewelry Organizer Stand

posted on 20 April 2012

When my grandmother passed away I was really devastated because she was more of a mother to me than my actual mom. I grew up with her and she treated me with the utmost kindness. I found out during the reading of the will that she left me her favorite jewelry organizer stand. I knew how much it meant to her which was why I was more than happy to take the jewelry organizer stand as my part of the inheritance. To my surprise the jewelry organizer stand had more to offer than meets the eye. It had a secret compartment which houses a check for two hundred thousand dollars and a letter from her telling me to spend my money however I wanted. I felt so honored and touched with her gift. I knew exactly what I was going to use the check she gave me. I went to the bank the next day and spent the money to pay off all my credit card debt and student loans.

Pashminas are Fashionable with the Right Colours

posted on 13 February 2012

Pashminas compliment nearly any outfit in a fashionable but functional manner. However, it is essential to pick the right colour for the right occasion. For weddings, it is vital to wear colours that express happiness but don’t attract too much attention. Whites, golds and creams are ideal, with silver peony, or simple taupe as the perfect colours for the event. On the other hand, if one is going for a more exotic look they may choose to go for a colour such as royal lilac, Norse blue or tango red. However my favourite colours for pashminas are snorkel blue or a poppy red, which both offer a rich look and can be worn with several outfits. The snorkel blue (similar to royal blue) helps to add sophistication to a bland outfit. The poppy red is a vibrant colour which will make you stand out from the crowd and give your outfit a new life. Whatever colour you choose make sure it suits the occasion, but offers style and functionality.

The Search for the Perfect Handbag

posted on 15 January 2012

I'm not sure my favourite handbag exists. Because no matter how many handbags, shoulder bags, evening bags, totes or purses I buy, there's something not quite right about any one of them. My favourite handbag remains in my dreams, as yet un-made by the designers and factories around the world that churn these creations out by the hundreds and thousands. Of course it has to be leather, it has to be big enough to hold everything and yet small enough to be discreet. And did I mention that it has to be the exact shade of green? It has to last forever, with no pesky split seams or broken straps, and while it has to have the inner capacity of Mary Poppins' carpetbag, you need to be able to find something as small as a penny piece within a second. Naturally, it has to be dressy enough to accompany you to dinner in an upmarket restaurant whilst being casual enough to sit by your feet on the floor of the local pub. It has to say "look at me, aren't I fabulous?" to other women, while saying "nothing to see here" to any would-be purse snatchers. And most of all, it has to age as I age, to neither appear too young for an older woman or too old for a woman not quite in her prime. A classic in all senses. I will never find my perfect handbag.

The Thought Doesn't Count If the Gift Falls Flat

posted on 30 December 2011

I love my husband. He is a wonderful, caring, sweet and sensitive man. He is not a good gift-giver. It feels almost like a betrayal to say that. But I have to say that I have learned how to give gifts based upon the way he gives gifts. And it all boils down to one simple rule: don't give anyone what YOU want! I used to make jewellery items for my friends using jewellery making supplies I owned - I think I enjoyed making the gifts much more than the recipients enjoyed getting them! On the other hand, you may have heard the opposite advice. Some people believe that giving someone a gift that you want is a surefire way to give from the heart. It’s not true. Last year, for Christmas, my husband gave me expensive tickets to a concert for a band I had never heard of. He loves music and really wanted to see the band, but the gift would have been better coming from me to him. Unfortunately, I didn’t even know he knew of the band, because I didn’t know who they were either. My best advice for giving gifts to loved ones: make a list check it twice!

The Most Essential Invention in the History of Fashion: Nail Polish

posted on 29 December 2011

For a female, I do not have much knowledge about fashion, but fashion is definitely something I share much interest in. I am one of those kind of people who really care about how others look at them, what they are saying about them and what they think of them, which is why fashion is so important to me. I have so many favorite fashion items that its to hard to just pick one - from my Forever Unique dresses to my pashminas, but if I had to pick only one I would have to say it's actually a make-up accessory: nail polish. I love nail polish so much that I have started collecting them. My collection of nail polishes consist of new polishes i have bought, already used polishes my friends and family have handed down to me, expensive brands as well as really cheap brands. I have a nice variety of colors and types, such as, glitter polish, mood changing polish, two toned and even neon. In my opinion, nail polish is an essential fashion item. It makes a statement to the kind of person you are, you can show your holiday spirit with the colors you choose to paint your nails and match your nails with your outfit. Every time I paint my nails it usually takes me a good couple of hours, most of this time I am trying to decide on how to paint them, what designs if any, what colors, glitter or glossy, I even mix different colors together to make a new look. Its fun, creative and lets me express who I am, best invention in the history of fashion.

Fancy Dressing Up as Bella Swan

posted on 29 December 2011

If I went to a fancy dress party, for a fancy dress costume, I’d dress up as Bella Swan from the Twilight Saga. I’ve been in love with the Twilight series before it came out in film, and I pictured what she would look like when I read the books. When the movie came out, I found she and I look very similar. The only real difference between us, aside from age, is I wear glasses and she does not. That’s easily fixed, though, with contact lenses. I love how she went from a simple looking girl who didn’t really care about her appearance to a girl who started looking a bit more glamorous like her vampire peers. I’m not sure if I’d go with the simple look – I think the more refined and glamorous looks, like when she got dressed up for her prom, is the way I’d go. I haven’t seen Breaking Dawn yet, so when I do, I might change my mind once again and choose a look from that movie.

Here's the Handbag Which I Like the Most

posted on 5 November 2011

I have a huge collection of stunning handbags - from black clutch bags to satchels - but out of which one handbag is my most favorite? The one my brother gifted me on my last birthday. It is very dear to me. It has unique color and design. The first time my friends saw this bag, they were astonished to see its grace. Many of them asked me about the shop from which it had been purchased and I told them that I did not know as it was a gift from my brother. I have not seen such a gorgeous bag ever and my friends are also agreed with this viewpoint of mine. My younger sister often asks me if she can borrow it when she goes out, but every time I refuse. My love for this bag is so vast that I cannot think to be separated from it!

My Favourite Fashion Items Are My Black Leggings

posted on 1 November 2011

Advice normally given to me as a chubby girl is to stay away from leggings. However, I went against this rule and bought a black pair that go well with my snug boots. After all, black is slimming. And, with the right tunic cut for my figure and with the right length problem areas could be avoided. I am very glad I ignored critical voices because I absolutely love my black leggings. They go over the ankle so there's no sudden stopping midway at the calf, which does make large legs look chunkier, the look is slimming, and with a longer tunic or long black t-shirt (staying with the same colours is slimming) it's quite flattering. I've worn these leggings with different tunics over the past few months and have always gotten compliments and these compliments are coming from critics who initially urged me to stay away from leggings. Furthermore, these leggings are comfortable! They don't ride up and they don't slip down over my belly. The leggings are soft and functional and make me feel very sexy.

My Favourite Shoes Have to be Sandals

posted on 3 August 2011

Now we're in summer, it's the perfect time to show off my favourite shoes : sandals. Why are they my favourite shoes? Well, sandals allow my feet to breathe. When I'm at work and I'm wearing shoes, I always take them off under my desk, because there's nothing worse than trapping your feet in a pair of shoes all day - not good for your health! Your feet's skin can breathe - even through a pair of socks, and that's good for you (at least, in my experience!). Obviously make sure your feet are nice and smell-free, otherwise my advice isn't very good for your co-workers! But with sandals, you can even eschew socks and truly "set you feet free" - there's a fresh feeling as the wind blows along the ground - it just feels so healthy. So set your own feet free this summer with a nice pair of sandals.
